Does a remineralized tooth with a big hole in it need a filling?

Question: I had pain in my molar after loosing a filling. I got the tooth x-rayed and the decay was close to the pulp chamber. The dentist said it was a question of "when," not "if" the tooth would need a root canal. I started using fermented cod liver oil more diligently and keeping it clean. Two years later it hasn't bothered me since. There is still discomfort if I chew food on this side. Can I get a regular filling instead of a root canal?

Answer: Glad to hear another testimonial of healthy teeth from learning about the principals discussed in Cure Tooth Decay. Yes absolutely this tooth can have a regular filling. Even a filling that does not require drilling. You will need to find a good minimally invasive dentist in your area. You will want to make sure they do some type of biocompatibility testing as well.
